Enotria is what the Greeks called what we know today as Calabria, after founding colonies there in ancient times left an indelible cultural and historical mark. Calabria’s microclimate is unique and the winery is located near the town of Ciro’, on the eastern coast, where it is protected by the Sila plateau. It is particularly well-suited to growing grapes as the milder weather of the seaside, the crisp breeze from the mountains and the powerful Calabrian sun combine to give the wines unique flavours and bouquets. In the 1950s, after growing grapes for four generations, the Librandi family decided to produce and bottle their own wine and the winery’s management has remained firmly in the family’s hands since.
